Let me introduce my Corolla.
Year: 1993
Engine: 4E-FE (1.3 liter 16v)
Project Objective: Toyota Corolla FX GT - with 4A-GE 20V Silvertop
Donor organs: Toyota Corolla Ceres GT - with 4A-GE 20V Silvertop
What to do:
1) Swap engine
2) Swap breaks
3) Sports suspension
4) New Paint (red)
5) Finish work on interior
6) Make Lambo-door
7) Hydraulic hood prop
8) And much more

Some questions
Do you like the current design?
Do you know how to make Lambo-doors?
Do you know how to make hydraulic hood struts? (1.3.2010 - Solved - work in progress)
Do you have someone experiences with swap of 4A-GE 20V Silvertop?

nice ride you've got there.

i see you've got a 1.3 engine and want a silvertop engine, as far as i know you'll have to replace the engine mounts because a 4age silvertop won't fit in the engine mounts of a 4e-fe. if you had a 4a-fe(1.6) it wouldn't be a problem
a 4e-fte (1.3 turbo) will fit perfectly in your car.

i don't have any experience with the silvertop engine because i have the blacktop engine(okay okay almost the same). but the i still don't regret i bought a blacktop.

I used peugeot 106 boot struds for my hood struds they fitt perfect only thing you'll need to do is make a mounting, see my project topic for that.

Hi there, welcome to the forum. Your car is looking pretty awesome. Front end has some sort of time attack appereance.

For the lambo doors you could contact Stefan on this forum. His pretty much the only person who has them on his E10 in The Netherlands.

When it comes to the engine, why not swap for a FTE? Just like Arco said. The swap is much more straight forward and in the end it's more easily tuneable then a silvertop engine as well. I have a FTE myself, the sound of a spooling turbo (even though the fan isn't bigger then the one from your girlfriends hairdryer) is just awesome.

What transmission do you use?

And here is why I want swap Silvertop, because I have donor at home. I was buy it month ago (Its Toyota Corolla Ceres GT )

every engine is possible to swap only with the swap from 1.3 to 1.6 is quit a challenge
as said a 4efte is the same engine only now with a turbo so that swap is made easyer
the only thing really needs modifying is the wiring and the exhaust

Frontlip is homemade, I made it only in 2 pieces, 1st from fiberglass (test) and i give it to my friend, and 2nd from 40% fiberglass,40% carbon fieber and 20% kevlar fieber - and this one is on my car I can make some better photos, if you want to try it make at home , its not hard

gearbox transmission in donor car is automat , but i yesterday buyed gearbox from Corolla E9 with 4AGE , so this gearbox will fit in car and be able to work long with 4A-GE ST

So , 4AGE 20V is now mounted in my corolla:


But I have some problem, i found this in "oil pan".



It looks like the engine was burnt out

Tell me please you opinion.

How many kilometers have this engine to overhaul ?

I would'nt start the engine!
Take it out, take the engine a part and look where these metal pieces come from and fix it (if possible)
I think if you'll start the engine now, it will cause more damage and maybe you'll need a new engine.

Before taking it apart do the following;
- Remove drain pan and check the oilpump filter (metall) at undersite of block.
- Remove oil filter and check if any metall is present
- Remove the sparkplugs
- turn the engine by hand
If you do not hear ore see anything out of the ordenary, you can try to start the engine.

I would suggest to Flush the engine with diesel. You remove all the oil. Then fill it with the same amount of diesel fuel. Then you remove the sparkplugs and turn the engine several times with help of the starter. Leave it fore several hours (let it soak) and turn it again.
Then you remove the oil filter, oil pan and drain all of the diesel. Clean everything.
After that you fill it again (after mounting the drainpan and new oil filter offcource!!) with new oil and filter.
Then again turn it with help of the starter.
Then again drain all the oil and remove the oil filter.
Again new oil and filter and he is clean as new from the inside.

Hi all, after some weeks of work, corolla is working



but I have problem with Radiator cooling fan. Its still on, but fan realy is working and water temp sensor is working too

Does anybody know way how to fix it?
